Looking to do some skating or sports with family or friends? Public skating at the Welland arena or indoor sports at All Sports Simulated, two other great options for good physical activity during the colder months. Best Western Plus Rose City Suites also has a great indoor gym, including a peloton bike, available to all guests’ year round! Perfect for sticking to those new year’s resolutions. 

During the spring, many of our guests and staff enjoy going for walks and cycling along the canal. The local’s favorite is going to the farmers market, open year around, at the Welland Market Square, getting fresh fruit and vegetables and yummy baked goods. There is even a restaurant that serves a hot breakfast there. 

The summer is when the city thrives. While yes, the city always has something to do, summertime is always packed with events. The Rose Festival Committee runs their annual Rose Festival Days in the Park every June, with food and craft beer vendors, face painting and more fun activities. There are a variety of events over the month of June, and it concludes with the grand Rose parade. It's always been a fun way to kick off summer. Other events in the summer include Concerts on the Canal, the Welland Floatfest, Dragon Boat racing for breast cancer awareness, rowing regattas, kayaking competitions and swim races, all in the recreational canal.

Fall arrives too soon, often before we are ready to say goodbye to summer. However, the fall and early winter months are always a whirl wind of craft shows, thanksgiving markets, with the cooler days and nights, and beautiful colors in the trees.
