Niagara Farmers Markets
- June 07, 2025

Do farmers markets remind us of our grandparents? Do we buy there to shop local? Do we buy there because we want the freshest produce? Whatever your reason, they are a great place to get a feel for the community and meet some locals.
Welland has a year around market at the Market Square every Saturday, since 1907! This market has run every Saturday filled to the brim with local goods like fresh fruits and vegetables, a variety of cheeses and meats, lots of baked goods - and that’s not even touching on the local handmade goodies you can find.
Our Farmer’s Market values the role it plays in strengthening our community, providing a relaxing and safe environment where adults and children can socialize, all the while supporting the local economy and encouraging sustainable agriculture in the Niagara region.
Many people don’t realize the impact that buying locally made goods can have, but when you buy from our Farmer’s Market you’re supporting individuals in our community who work hard to bring you quality items, all the while lessening our carbon footprint and the effect on our planet.
The Farmer’s Market has got you, the kids, and the dog covered with everything you need. Go check it out Saturday, it’s open from 7am to noon at 70 Young Street right in Welland - only a 20 minute walk from the hotel (with gorgeous canal views along the way)!
Between the months of May to October, there is also a market at the Seaway Mall front parking lot. Not only will you find food, but you will also find some hand made products.
Port Colborne market is located across the street from City Hall, at 59 Charlotte Street. It operates seasonally from April to October from 7am to Noon. With over 25 vendors attending on a regular basis, you will find prepared foods, meats, cheese, flowers and more.
The Town of Pelham has a much smaller, seasonal market on Thursday nights from 4pm to dusk at 20 Pelham Town Square. Vendors selling their fresh picked fruits & vegetables, locally made liquor and baked goods. What sets this market apart from the others is for most of the summer, once you are done at the market, stick around to listen to music at the Pelham Peace Park. Concerts are free and very popular. Put your lawn chair out early to save a spot.
If you are traveling a little further during your stay here, you may consider a visit to the St Catharines Market, year around on Saturdays from 7am to 2pm, or February - December from 8am to 2pm at 91 king street. Another Saturday market is in Niagara on the Lake from May 25 to October 5th from 8am to 1pm at 111 Garrison Village Drive.
We hope you shop local, learn a little and enjoy the treats you pick up!
